TESS - It Takes A Village Project

The adage "It Takes A Village" rings true in the independent music world! Tess is one of the artists that we love in musicAnd she needs the indie music community to take the promotion of her amazing debut EP "The Name is Tess" to the next level.

Today, she launched her month-long campaign to raise support, she adds:
We embark on what may be the biggest challenge we've had to face thus far; funding to take the ‘HipRocknB Movement’ to the next level. The plan is to raise $10,000 in 30 days.Yes, you heard it; $10,000 in 30 days.
Join me in showing support for her "It Takes A Village" Kickstarter campaign. For more information contact Tess at thenameistess@gmail.com

Harlem Arts Festival June 2012

So a couple of days ago I ranted about the demise of Arts Education in schools which is still happening as we speak but with some hope to the future.

This week, Uptown Flavor tweeted about a kickstarter project, The Harlem Arts Festival (follow them by the way for info about everything NYC especially Harlem World!).

So I was curious and clicked on the link.

I'm a strong believer in putting your greenbacks where your mouth is if you want something to happen not just give it lip service. And within a week's time, with a few more hours to spare, The Harlem Arts Festival reached their goal and the festival will happen on June 29th and 30th. They are still looking for artists to perform and display their artistic vision - the deadline to submit is March 20th!

To me, this shows me that if we all galvanize beyond the existence of everything that is cultural arts, we can make it happen and opportunities can be realized!

Please continue to or start to support a cultural arts project especially when the public school system is taking arts out of the classroom.
