"Living free creatively....Just being me!" were the six words that got us a special invite to Candice Anitra's exclusive listening party for her latest project 'Big Tree' at Studio G in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

We came to adore Candice's lyrical bravado, humbling spirit & passion she boasts in regards to her music which is why it was truly an honor to share in an intimate setting for the release of her new project 'BIG TREE'; chit & chat with the project's production team and catch up with industry folk (s/o to Fiona Bloom of The Bloom Effect!!).

We had an opportunity to converse with Candice on the start of her career and, what led her on the path to do her music.  After receiving the honor of being some of the many present to listen to the full CD before it's release, she welcomed thoughts (and longed to know our favorites) from the tracks we listened to.  Honestly, for Chante, she loved every single track but if she had to pick a top three, they would have to be (in no specific order) "Angry Sea of Me", "Love Sick" & "Today."  For Caprice, though she loved the majority of the entire CD, the ones that moved her was the rock-infused "Love Sick" and the hauntingly eclectic, "Take This Hello."

Candice's music is a refreshing change from the norm; pushing countless boundaries with her debut release 'Bark Then Bite'; and with her latest creation, she pushes even harder and stronger and we ain't mad at that!  That's just badass!!!

Check out her video "Love Sick" from her 'Big Tree' project!

Be sure to join us at her official album release party at DROM (85 Avenue A at 6th Street, NYC) with special guests on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 7pm!!
