The film "Nice & Rough" is about the untold story of black women who rock & roll!
This film, which is currently in production, is the brainchild of Director-Producer-Writer, Sheila Hardy. She conceived this project out of her love for honest, raw, and soulful music. Hardy is also a historian, journalist and co-author of the award-winning book Extraordinary People of the Harlem Renaissance, and the book "Extraordinary People of the Civil Rights Movement".
Sheila Hardy expresses the impact of a film of this magnitude as follows "Beyond the obvious benefit to this community of women, Nice & Rough conveys a universal message. It provides a unique perspective, and a rare look at the lives of women who perform rock. This film poses important questions that will prompt the audience to rethink how we experience music and each other. Like music, this film has the power to bring people together. It's an important part of music history that must be shared".
