A Mermaid’s Tale: Book Reading by Carolyn Turgeon

With two great fictional greats under her belt, Carolyn Turgeon stopped by New York’s Barnes & Nobles in Tribeca recently for a reading from her latest literary creation, Mermaid.
After an interesting creative journey that included uncovering the world of mermaiding and discovering a town that devoted to the enchanted beauty of mermaids, she breathed life into a new age version of Hans Christian Anderson’s infamous fairytale “The Little Mermaid”.
As she read excerpts from her book, the audience was completely engrossed and was longing to hear more about what the mermaid will do next after her chance encounter with a human man that she rescued moments away from death.

Carolyn’s storytelling is reminiscent of the great authors who allow you to delve into the heart of the story with twists and turns along the way that submerges you into it so that you become part of the story itself. This is why SR’s Chante has been a long time fan of Ms. Turgeon’s work.
We look forward to more literary edibles from this author – she has a children’s fairytale coming out this summer! In the meantime, please be sure to indulge all of your five senses by picking up “Mermaid” and her other titles, “The Godmother” and “Rain Village”.
