Prepare to be spiritually uplifted at another edition of THE SYNCH CHRONICLES, as the Synch Ladies feature TANTRA ZAWADI, who will bless the crowd with her visionary prose on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Shrine World Music Venue.

TANTRA is a profound spoken word artist who is well known for her charismatic standing-room only performances in Toronto, London and Germany as well as blowing away audiences in the Tri-State area with her soul stirring style of poetry at such venues as: The Sugar Bar; Brooklyn Museum's First Saturday Project; Def Poetry Plugged In; Brooklyn Academy of Music; BRIC Studios; Bryant Park; Union Square Park (Summer in the Square); The Schomberg Library with Ruby Dee and Avery Brooks in attendance; Urban Erotika; The Guild Theater; RUSH Arts Gallery; The Cutting Room; The Nuyorican Poets CafĂ©; Symphony Space (Riant Theatre’s Strawberry One-Act Festival); just to name a few!! Over the years, TANTRA has produced countless albums and DVD releases including The Poet, Natural: Bring That Poem Home; was featured in several publications including Essence Magazine; and is author of “alifepoeminprogress” (Chuma Spirit Books.com). Due to her exceptional body of work, TANTRA is the subject of a spoken word documentary “Do What You Love and the Money Will Follow” which features poets who make a living from their art; by award winning filmmaker, Julia O’Farrow (www.jaygeeohcom.com). Her spoken word video “Scarlet Waters” featuring Michael Cox on bass, was featured on the video-wall for Product (RED) created by U2’s Bono and Bobby Shriver, to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS in Africa. Launchers of Product (RED include businesses such as Gap, Inc., Converse, American Express, Apple, Inc., and Giorgio Armani. Currently, TANTRA is kicking off 2009 with her latest project “Love Planet”; the new album by Collective Spirits - a melodious venture of like minds devoted to making deep and meaningful music for the dance floor. TANTRA explains, “My work can best be described by the love that I make through my art to the vision of the unseen reality.”
